World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. item upgrader must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after the reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. upgrade item are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may become more expensive even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like dolphins). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is highly important in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses listed above.
